  • “I hired Matthew to install two skylights in my den. Since I know nothing about skylights, Matthew was very good at showing me all my options and explaining in great detail the pros and cons of each type. I eventually settled on a new tubular kind of skylight that he recommended due to the fact that it is less likely to leak than traditional skylights, and I am extremely happy with them as well as the installation work he did. While doing that, he noticed that I had substandard insulation above the den, so he also insulated the space above the ceiling up to standard. After this job, I hired Matthew again to completely redesign/remodel the entire den. One of his strengths is that he objectively describes pros and cons of each enhancement, material, and costs. As with the skylights, I didn’t really know what I wanted to do with the den, and he came up with some unique, fabulous concepts and ideas that I implemented. He removed old wood wall paneling and applied a very neat wall texture of his own design, put in new wood flooring, installed all new fixtures (lights, vents, etc.), and new sliding glass door; and he installed a new window where none was before. Given the amount of work, the time, and the materials, I thought the overall cost was very reasonable, and he worked very hard to keep it within my budget.
